WHAT THEY'RE SAYING!

Alexander Technique

As a young person I found that whenever I strove forward towards my goals, I was hit with a wall of low energy, low mood and anxiety. From my first Alexander lesson I knew that I had found a powerful process to unleash my inner potential and I’m always surprised to realise how much more I can do.

Alexander Technique lessons have truly changed my life. I was preparing for back surgery and could hardly walk, but after just one lesson the pain eased, I felt hopeful, and chose not to proceed with surgery. Over the past two years, my back and movement have continued to improve, and I now feel calmer, more grounded, and more confident when speaking in public.

The Alexander Technique has helped me solve a difficult situation at work, I learnt to breathe and be present with a colleague who I had a conflict with. By learning to stay connected to my breath and body they no longer trigger me and I am able to stay in a job that I thought I would have to leave. I have learnt to not get stressed at work. The other plus side is I am no longer injuring myself at the gym as I am learning to use my body properly.

This technique has become my little lifesaver in the daily chaos that's my life. With after-school pickups, work, and trying to get dinner on the table, I used to run on pure stress. I'd get headaches all the time. Now I notice when I start getting wound up, and I pause for a second, breathe, and get present. Life feels more spacious, and I don’t get as caught up in the rush. I'm still busy, but I'm much calmer, and no more headaches!
